Surgery Waiting Area

Annie is in surgery now. She was a trooper, although the operating room was large and scary and overwhelming. She never cried, but the corners of her mouth were turned down in a big frown once we walked into the room. Still, she accepted the oxygen/anesthesia mask without complaint and drifted off to sleep. As always, all the docs and nurses commented on how easygoing and compliant she is, especially for a two year old.

We were told to expect 2 1/2 hours for the actual dental work, plus about an hour of anesthesia time. Hopefully, she'll be all done by 11am this morning or so. That should give her plenty of time to wake up and get the ok to go home today.

Oh, and it turns out the work will more than likely include fixing the huge chip on her front tooth! She's even going to look different after all this .....

More later .... (Apparently Children's Hospital as unblocked blogger from their WiFi -- so I actually can update while we're here. Hooray! Something to do!)
